I do... a lot of local actions. I see results all over the map... from give away to almost what a new tractor cost. I see everything up front go very high,, while at 8pm at night I get very very good buys as all the weekenders have gone home by 4pm. I usually see certain brands always bring great prices and off brands bring nothing. And by off brands, I mean not ford, kubota, or deere. SO. while it cost you nothing to put it on craigslist... AND you can run it multiple areas on craigslist to get to the right market. BUT you do have to suffer many fools and wanna-be's. Once you put it in auction, you pretty much loose all control unless you put a reserve on it, and if you do, you pay a higher fee for something that did not sell.
If you used craigslist... clearly state....
State the model and brand, trans, pto, 3pt, pwr stg, condition, pictures all 4 sides and of tires. Pic of hours, and in some cases the shifter. Starts good, no blowby, does everything it should. >>>> Describe it so there is no need to ask the common questions. Then add in the second paragraph >>>

This will make the scammers pretty much go away although you will still get a couple of robo emails or texts. Ive had captains on submarines tell me they could not come see it so take their check.. to I'm serving in Antarctic to Iraq. Any email that say...kindly.. but 100 plus tractors later and its free. When it rains, I sell all the tractors I have. When its dry, things are very very slow.
