That picture is inaccurate. We had good sweet corn like that shown on the right long before GMO was even thought about.
Please don't try to tell me that a hybrid is the same thing as GMO. Hybrid is cross breeding two or more different strains to produce a better strain. THAT IS NOT GMO!!
GMO is gene splicing on the microscopic level and using DNA/RNA from completely different species to create a whole new variety. Some of that DNA comes from birds, lizards, frogs or goats. I suspect that if they push it far enough, we will have vegetables that pick themselves when ripe and walk on their own into the barn for sale or food.
Personally, given a choice, I would prefer NOT to eat GMO foods if only because they are not totally proven to be safe and not cause big problems after years of consumption.
