that head ahs been welded in the upper right . but once it gets soaked in the caustic hot tank then it will be inspected for cracks. you did not have to pound on them valves plus u never ever do that. use a brass punch. once it moves a bit then you hit them the other way with lots of lube and keep doing that back and forth thing.but these vaalves are all junk anyhow. they have a hard surface on the stems and you dont want that beat up. all i am saying it is part of machine shop work and they have to drive the guides out anyhow for replacements. i can see it needs valve guides and seats installed plus all new valves. your looking at around 700.00 for that job. another tid bit... when working on rusted parts u need lots of time and patience, not a bigger hammer as they say.
