Sorry I missed your last response and question to me over on the previous page, so here's my answer..

You asked: From your description, it needs to be the NEMA 14-50R as is used in an RV park's power pedestal. I think it would be useful for me to photo the inside of the 200 amp panel and post the photo here. I do understand basic wiring, but I tend to get puzzled with neutral and ground differences. Thanks to all who are contributing to this.

MY ANSWER:

YES you need to install a 250 Volt 50 Amp NEMA 14-50R Three Pole Four Wire Grounding Receptacle. Thats
whats used in 50 Amp RV Park Pedestals

That requires FOUR 6 Gauge Copper conductors FROM the panel TO the receptacle, namely

Red Hot L1,,,,,,,,Black Hot L2,,,,,White Neutral,,,,,,,Green Equipment GroundING Conductor

The Red & Black are connected to a TWO Pole 50 Amp Circuit Breaker in the Panel
The White Neutral is connected to the Neutral Buss in the Panel where all the other White Neutrals are
connected
The Green is connected to the Ground Buss in the Panel

NOTE On some MAIN distribution panels the Whites and Neutrals are ALL connected to a single common Buss
where ALL Whites and ALL Neutrals are attached

NOTE Ifffffffffff the panel in question happens to be a SUB PANEL fed from a MAIN Panel it will have
separate Neutral and Ground Busses

NOTE I have no idea what receptacle is there and if it is fed by three or four wires ??????? If its ONLY a Two Pole Three Wire Grounding 240 Volt ONLY it may only have three wires Hot Hot Ground. If so thats NOT enough wires it doesnt have a Neutral.

NOTE I have no idea what the panel is?????? Im talking like its a 120/240 Volt Single phase Three Wire, if notttttttttttttt things can change post back more info !!!!!!!!!!!!!

To plug a 50 Amp RV all you need is a properly wired NEMA 14-50R Three Pole Four Wire Grounding receptacle wired with FOUR 6 Gauge Copper wires to a 50 Amp TWO Pole breaker in a panel. Black n Hot to the two poles on a 50 amp breaker,,,,, White to Neutral,,,,,,,,, Green to Ground EASY PEASEY

Your Panel if Main may or may not have separate Ground and Neutral Busses (which are bonded if at main panel) or if a SUB Panel definitely separate Ground and Neutral Busses, but regardless you can use either to feed your receptacle. The Neutral Buss is where the Whites are attached,, the Ground Buss is where the Bare and Greens are attached....
