You probably have made your decision by now but I'll throw my 2 cents in anyway. If your field is not to big I would mix both seeds together and set the rate at half rate. Go over the field once and see if you have planted half the seed. Adjust the rate up or down and go over the field again using the rest of the seed. That way you don't have happen what we have all had happen ie run out of seed with a round and a half left to plant. This way it all has at least half rate and most has full rate. If you are bone dry I agree with the inch and a half deep crowd. Plant it to shallow and it will sprout with quarter inch rain and then the sprouts will dry up and die by the end of the week. Plant deep and they will just lay there until a 2 inch rain when they will sprout and continue to grow.
