: : : : : : : Ford Man : : : : : : I just saw a little MF garden tractor with a tiller on the back and I understand it has a mower deck that goes with it. It's powered by a Briggs 16 (?) hp engine. that's about all I know about the thing. I was thinking about getting it for myself for much the same reasons. Anyone know more? : : : : : :A cub would be a nice tractor for you, if you would like a older cub look for a 149 or a 1450 you can attachments like a tiller,snow blower,and mowing decks from 40" to 50". these garden tractors have a 14 hp kohler and are ease to service and parts are avalilable. stay away from anything with a briggs&stratton engine : : : : Do not buy a Bolens, Wheelhorse have problems with the belt drive arrangment. If you want simply the best buy an old IH Cub Cadet. Look for one that has been stored inside and owned by a homeowner for mowing the lawn. They are the most expensive older garden tractors for good reason. Parts are easily availible and they are based on sound engineering. I am always looking for old Cub Cadets and they are rarely for sale. Good luck: Mie Dane : : : My late father had a JD 318. This tractor had dual Hydrauics PTO Three point hitch and power steering. Made for a nice easy operating machine. : : I have a friend who has a mower repair business. He likes Gravely. I would go for a cub cadet. My neighbor has one that just won't quit. Your right on with your decision to stay away from craftsman. I mow three acres and pretty much have had to junk my craftsman after only 3 seasons. : I had a M F for about 15 years and decided it was time to buy a new one about 5yrs. ago. I now drive a Honda 4518 that I bought at Northern Hydrolics. Really like it. Put the first set of blades on this year. 18 H.P., 46 in. deck, hydrostat, water cooled. Mows about 1 acre a week. No PTO or snowblower. Use blade on 4-wheeler for that.
