When I can't buy something, I usually make it. The bucket on Terramite doesn't use forks like you can use on bobcats. It has two pins that are a pain to remove and put
back on. I made my forks using 7 inch used channel. The forks hook on the front of bucket, go underneath and a bolt holds them in place. I have 4 holes to move forks. I tried clamping forks to the bucket, didn't like. I've never bent the bucket. Used the forks many times, mostly for loading logs on a truck and cleaning up a mess after a tree is cut down or blown down. Forks are real back saver.
My neighbor wanted me to make him a rear ballast for his Massey using a 55 gallon barrel filled with concrete. Estimated weight 1200# That was pushing the limit of what the terramite can handle. Forks never bent. The bucket never bent either.
There have been times I've grabbed a log with the hoe for rear ballast so I could lift a heavy log and remove weight from front
wheels
Because there is no 3 pt hitch on a loader backhoe the forks can be modified to put a landscape rake or grader blade on.
No 3 pt that I'm aware of can apply down
pressure like I can.
Hope this gives Grandpa ideas how to make his new toy a handy toy.

You got to understand that while my Mom is a hard worker who will always help whenever she can... she had never operated farm machinery before that day.
