When I was at TSC yesterday I noticed that the PTO parts section had been greatly downsized. A couple of years ago I was standing around at an auction while an IH 55 forage harvester was selling. Final bid was 165 dollars with 2 heads but there had to be close to a 1,000 dollars worth of PTO parts, hydraulic hoses, hydraulic cylinder, tires, etc. if you planned to never run that chopper again. Back to TSC I would imagine to justify space a part has to turn every couple of weeks. Some baler from the 1960's or 1970's probably won't help that turn. I could make you sick by mentioning that one place I get used parts from had the owner busy with the excavator outfitted with the pincher reducing a NH 268 to dumpster scrap metal when I was there yesterday. He did not have the hydraulic cylinder I was looking for.

And I think Dad was ready for some automation too. And so it was that we acquired a good, used J. I. Case, wire tie hay baler. In addition to a person to drive th
