I've been fighting a battle with the carb for my Oliver 1550, If I remember correctly, it's a TSX 903? It runs good above 1000 rpm, but having a time getting it to idle right. I have taken it apart and cleaned it twice , the second time it was working great, would idle smoothly about 700 rpm, I could idle along in 6th gear at 500 rpm and push the throttle ahead and it would accellerate smoothly. Then it took a fit and wouldn't idle. I took it apart and I could see a speck blocking one of the jets in the bottom of the bowl. Cleaned it out and soaked it for a couple of hours in a gallon of Napa carb cleaner and put it back together. Runs great above 1000rpm, below 1000rpm, it lopes and sputters and wants to die. I have to choke it to start it even when warm. I ran a wire thru all of the holes in the body. There is tiny hole in the bowl that I can squirt carb cleaner thru but it seems like the hole doesn't go straight thru, the wire bottoms out. I even ran a small drill bit into it by hand and it stops like it's a dead end. I have another similar carb and the hole in it is the same way. I have an old crock pot in the shop, I think I cooked a carb in vinegar a year or so ago to clean it, That is the next step unless there is something better to use. The operators manual says idle speed is 450 rpm, I've never been able to get it that low. The carb was pretty dirty inside when I started all of this, I think it had set a lot before I got it, I scraped a lot of rusty crud out of the bowl. What next???? Thanks, Chris
