I'm at 12 weeks after surgery and prospects are not looking to suit me. Hard fall on shoulder almost 12 months ago. Suffered with it 3 months not knowing what was wrong. Went to Dr who did exrays and mri and said partial tear in rc. Suggested cordazone shots,no mention of surgery, therapy or taking it easy or resting shoulder. I asked if that is a cure and he said no,just temporarly relieve's pain. Put up with it another 6 months then went to different Dr who said I should have done therapy 6 months earlier and I had finished wrecking my shoulder by continueing to lift, push and pull. Suggested surgery which I had done. They handed me a rope with pulley and said come back in 2 weeks. At 2 week follow up he told me I needed to pull arm as high as possible with pulley. I told him it already felt like something was tearing and he assured me I couldn't injure myself on the pulley. Went home that afternoon, gritted teeth and pulled hard on rope. Pulley strap had been wedged for 2 weeks in top of closet door per instruction sheet in bag with pulley. When I put arm under extra tension the *%!$#@ strap sliped and it hurt like never before. Next morning I picked up a pulley at Lowe's with a heavy duty support bracket and found I wasn't able to pull arm as high as I could 24 hours earlier. It has been 10 weeks since that happened, not much improvement, pain worse than first 2 weeks and Dr want's to perform another procedure with projected recovery taking 12 more months. I'd like to hold a couple of doctor's heads under water over their lackadaisical ways. Haven't decided what I should do but haven't ruled out making the last dr and pulley mfgr pay for everything going foward with a different orthapedic team. I may get my granddaughter to post pictures of pulleys from dr's office and from the home improvment store. I think you would agree with my opinion of their reliability when so much is at stake.
My best wishes to you and your wife Ellis.

The saga starts with the following message: Hey guys I have a decision to make. I know what you all will probably suggest and it will probably agree with me way down inside, but here it is. I have a picture blown up and framed in my "tractor room" of a Farmall M. It was my Grandpa's tractor, of which whom I never got to meet. He froze to death getting this tractor out of the barn to pull a truck out of the ditch before I was born. Anyway my dad and aunt had to sell it at the auction, ... [Read Article]
