What you need is one of the HYDRO tractors put out by IH. My dad had an 826 HYDRO that was perfect for transplanting cold crops like Cabbage and pulling a potato harvester. Simply set the RPM's and then move the HYDRO lever to what ever speed you need. You can also change your speed on-the-go as field conditions demand - no need to shift gears. HYDRO'S have have an infanate speed selection from 0 to 16 or 17 mph and had a Low range for extra power at slower speeds. I believe they made a smaller 656 (60hp version) and now many compact tractors feature HYDRO transmissions. 1/16, 1/8, 1/4, 1/2 mph on this type of transmission is no problem. The HYDRO 826, 656 were solid tractors for the tasks above, but not well suited for heavy disk or plow work. I Believe they were built in the early 70's or late 60's. The HYDRO 70 & 100 were built into the 80's. Good Luck
