I took my generator and regulator to my shop that rebuilt them last year and he put everything on his stand and worked fine- 13.2 volts(or so). Brought it home yesterday and put it back on...started up and amp gage showed charge- needle fluctuates up and down...increased the rpms to about 900-1000 and belt starts chattering and gage is on 0...used my meter on battery while running and shows 12.2 at battery; ran about 1 minute(belt squalling) so shut it off and front of genny is hot and case is hot: ?
