As far as not knowing why, you gotta remember that TSC pays as little as possible to their help. If they have any gumption at all they find a better job asap. in 2007 I started at $8 per hour. Then they made me a 'Team leader' at $8.50 where, for $4 more an 8 hour shift I was responsible for the other associates, counting the cash and locking the place up.
Lots of stuff is just done because someone said to, without any apparent logical reason. I still remember watching the manager sell a batter and she punched out both the 0 and the 7 in the year line.
