God is the only one who knows how many hours on a 1948 2 stick cyclone John Deere A my father bought new. For a 80 head total farm is was the big tractor until 1967 or 68? We had a 46 Model A Deere that became the spreader & Light chore tractor after the 48 was Purchased. Then the cyclone a became the lite chore tractor after the 730 W/F Diesel came to the farm. Both of the A left the farm in the late 90's some time after 1997. Both left the farm after 2 or 3 over hauls & the cyclone had a New Standard block. & Was on it's 3rd drawbar. Many a day that tractor spring planting ran for 8Am till near 11PM with 3 operators Grand Dad Brother & My Self. It baled hay all over the county & combined grain all over the county 1950/1970 tractor wore out at least 3 combines. We always kept it looking nice, it is still being used today, however the people who bought it have used in entirely in the Woods, doesn't looks so nice anymore. About the only deere we've had that I didn't like a whole lot was a 1955 John Deere 50. It always had a issue.... on the farm today is 1944 A. 1947 M, 1953 60, 1954 60 1957 620, 1960 530, 1960 630, 1959 730D 1960 730D & 27504wd & 32554wd , too darn many.
