We got power back on late last night. Power company brought in a 1 megawatt generator and set it by the substation serving our area just northwest of Marshalltown. It is the size of a semi trailer. Caterpillar I think. I see the tanker filling it up this morning. I'd hate to pay that fuel bill. All my cords are picked up and hung up, my gens are in the shop. Need to service and get ready for next time. The B&S 5000W was drinking oil pretty bad, I changed it to 20W50 Aero oil I had around for some reason and that helped a bunch. That one I bought in 93 during the floods, it has a ton of hours on it. Plus I need to fix two of the neighbors. Both have bad fuel in them, carbs need cleaned or replaced. Helped as many people as I could, mostly simple stuff like cord ends. My box of twist locks is pretty picked over, I have a list of parts to order when things settle down. Had both loaders picking up brush out of the yards in town. Going to have a huge fire at the brush pile this winter. Last few days have been tough I'm looking forward to a nights sleep.
