Interesting post TF ..... the US definitely has a negative trade balance with 25 of their their top 30 trading partners .... see the link below for 2017. The numbers are hard to comprehend but the + - stats are interesting. So yes, the US seems to be importing more stuff than they export, but who is to blame for that? Hard to answer that question. With regards to China specifically of course, a lot has to do with our demand for cheaper priced goods, there must be other reasons as well.
Meanwhile though,if everyone in every country that once went to war with the US stopped buying US-made goods, then what would happen to all of the manufacturers in the US (and their employees) who send their products to the rest of the world? Do we just expect them to close their doors? Times are changing as we often say here on the YT forums and the global economy is a fact of life. If anyone thinks that they are going to restrict their shopping to US made goods, then good luck with that. The first thing you'll notice is a difficulty in finding what you want to buy at a reasonable price. The competition of the global economy has kept prices competitive I think.
