The mechanism itself was not damaged so there was nothing to line up. And these are pretty loose and forgiving so you don't need to be real accurate. That said, things went together real well. I had to use some heat on the bottom of the tube to get it back up where it belonged. That tube was 1/2" thick. Also had to do some hammering on the left over tube still attached to the mechanism because it was bent some, but that I was able to do cold. The one tab on the mechanism where the cylinder hooks was bent and I needed to bend that back, but it was thinner and a few blows with a hammer and it was good.
