My father has a 1973 oliver 2655. On a propane 2655, the engine was a 504 moline engine. The 585 Moline engines were savotaged by Moline employees because they were told earlier in the year (by oliver) of their last year of production, that they would be out of a job at the end of the year. I'm not saying that all were jimmyied. The oliver head officials told the shipping men to start the olivers (2655) and run them at full throttle for one whole day, if they held together, ship them. If they didn't hold together, scrap them. My fathers 2655 must have been one of them that held together, but it wore out to fast. He replaced the engine with a 8V-71 Detroit Diesel. Talk about kick butt machine. He pulls a 16 shank chisel plow with it, With Out Duals or loaded tires. The chisel plow is a 3-point model. This chisel plow is also for sale because he quit farming. MF chisel plow still has original shovels on it, (low hours, kept inside, looks like new) $3000 (616) 496 7373 or e-mail me. P.S. the tractor is not for sale. Collectors item. He did get the 585 rebuilt and installed it in his MM G1000 Vista. It didn't last long in that tractor either.
