I went to the vary first one they had . Met Dick Green out at Fletcher when he came up to me and my buddy and asked us to come to his first sale the next day . Over the years we became good friends Knew the whole group down there . The sales were large and the one day sales would last well into the night . My buddy and i toold Dick that he really needed to go to a two day sale asit was way to hard on us staying till the last dog was hung then load up and drive home in time to start the day . There were many times they would have a problem on a tractor that someone bought under the ride and drive only to find out that the seller did not tell the truth or lefft out that the piece of junk had a problem aqnd Dick would get me to go check it out to see who was right and who was laying. Several times old Bill would come up into my area for a sale and buy something and ask me to haul it down to London for him as all he brought was his pick up and wife , or he would buy more then what would fit on the roll back. Last i saw of Dick i was coming home from Texas with a big load on and i stopped at the fuel stop at 42 and I 70 to get a pepsi to try and stay awake for the last 4 hours to get home and ran into Ddick as i was coming out of the rest room . well somuch for just four hours to the house as he and i stood there for and hour and a half B/Sing . Times change and the days of big sales are gone , all th sales i use to go to other then Ted Everrt and a couple out in Il are history . Twice a month my buddy and i would leave out by 3:30 Am on a Monday morning for the first sale and we would be at sales all the way thru till late Saturday evening when he and i would come staggering home covering three states .

Today's Featured Article - Choosin, Mounting and Using a Bush Hog Type Mower - by Francis Robinson. Looking around at my new neighbors, most of whom are city raised and have recently acquired their first mini-farms of five to fifteen acres and also from reading questions ask at various discussion sites on the web it is frighteningly apparent that a great many guys (and a few gals) are learning by trial and error and mostly error how to use a very dangerous piece of farm equipment. It is also very apparent that these folks are getting a lot of very poor and often very dangerous advice fro ... [Read Article]
