First thing to do is to take the light bulb down to NAPA or whatever auto parts store you use and see if they can sell you a 12V that will plug into the same socket. If so, you are done. If not, all other options are poor. If you had to, you could wire the two lights in series and 12V would work just fine. Biggest trouble is that there is usually a ground connection via mounting hardware and you would have to insulate that on one fixture.
