Sounds like you are using the credit stuff wisely. A lot don’t.
Surprised you could get a loan so small on a piece that wasn’t running.
I have a relative that needs to be in debt as deep as he possibly can, he will get a bank loan to buy a $2000 snow blower at a farm auction. I guess the bank sees him as good income when you put all the small loans together so they keep working with him like that, me I don’t know how to find a lender that would do such a loan.....
I bought a $40,000 tractor at an auction this summer, had the cash in the checkbook. It was kinda odd to walk up to the auction window, write such a big check, and have a tractor, nothing else to it. That is about 3-4x as much as I’ve spent on a piece of iron ever before, and I’ve been planning and saving up for that for most of a decade now.
So it was big money and big deal to me, not a common thing here on this little farm! Tractor better last a decade or two for me......
Sure hope it stops raining and I can get more harvested and able to use the tractor this fall yet, sheez what a tough year.

Imagine a crude hole made in the hood to accommodate a new taller air cleaner, the fender wells cut away to make way for larger tires, and half of a sliding glass door used to replace the windshield. Top that off with an old set of '36 Ford headlight shells bolted to the hood. Pretty unlikely for a car... but for a tractor, this is pretty normal. It seems that more often than not they a
