I have a 16 year old farm kid who works here at the farm and around the shop after school. He told me they had an active shooter drill at school this week. They had speakers come in and teach the teachers and students how to run and hide. Make barricades out of chairs and desks, wedge things against doors. My first thought was of this kid. He has been coached how to run and hide if he hears gun fire. In two years him and many 16 year olds will be 18 and enlisting in the armed services. Isn't it going to be difficult for the Marine Corps to teach him to carry a weapon and run into danger when he was taught to run and hide? When I was young they taught us to never give up and if you loose a fight make the other guy earn it. Once again I have a hard time with changing times. Al
