Chuck, I haven't made a lot of lifestyle changes, yet. I needed a glasses prescription change and also got the auto-dark feature they recommended, which I don't like much when I go inside because they change back slowly.
It's close to time for me to stop driving at night but I still make short runs like the 4 miles from town. Like someone else mentioned, the oncoming car lights are the worse. The new, phony, "fog lamps" that are popular and are focused up the road instead of downward like fog lights are meant to be, blind me. I cuss whoever whenever I meet one, even across the 4 lane on 13 HWY near where I live.
I take "Preservation" Areds II, morning and night, the Lutein's variety as opposed the vitamin C ones due to a past history of smoking. I'm on oxygen, (COPD), and keep my O2 as close to normal as I can. I figure that can't hurt. As yet I haven't made any major lifestyle or habit changes except what I mentioned, no screen helpers. That may come.

One tip I do have, for anyone; I take phone pictures of things in fine print, paint can labels, serial# plates, etc. then blow them up so I can read them. That's helped more than one might think. Your lighted magnifier sounds plenty useful, I'm going to get one. That's the best thing about talking about these issues, one can get good help and ideas from other's experiences. Hang right in there and stay in touch! gm
