My wife saw an ad for an 8N in local ag weekly newspaper and insisted I check it out. Called and agreed on price and sent 'em $100 cash to hold it. Next weekend, she decided that I needed some quality daddy time with my then 8 yr son. With his Boy Scout friend as a co-pilot, hauled a borrowed flatbed trailer 300 miles to pickup an 8N Ford with a Sherman aux-tranny that embarrassingly took me a couple of years to find out about the 3rd speed (pull out about 1" to left and then back for direct drive) and nearly new 14.9-24 tires. (them's wide compaired to OEM 10-28's) Throwed in a Howard Rotovator to boot. It works but...N's arn't good rototiller machines cuz the're too high geared and pto is too low geared but they're 2-bottom plowin' fools. ex-Wife's gone now, son's gone to college, 8N's still here at my RockyRidge SheepStation at the foot of Mt. Rainier, Wash. An awesome 15 acres of starvation grass where I raise Montadale sheep to train my Australian Shepherd dogs to compete in sheepdog trials against Border Collies .......Dell (WA)
