What you haven`t said is wether you have a shuttle transmission or a power shift trans. It`s more than likely as was said a fuse. JCB uses the shifter as the neutral start switch on the shuttle trans and relays when it`s a power shift for neutrl start.
You`ll need to give me the s/n so I can find the schematic or get an idea of what you have.
If it is a shuttle trans., find the fuse that is identified by a gear. On that model I don`t remember which one it is. Pull it and check it. Do you have a back up alarm? If so unplug it. Still assumung you have a shuttle trans. go underneath the machine and on top of the trans. you will see the wires that connect to the coils. Unplug both of them. Turn on the key and shift the shifter. Check your fuse again. I think the left one is reverse. Plug one in at a time and repeat shifting with engine off and key on. Check the fuse after each one you plug in to see if it is still good.
I`m not going to go any further to confuse you worse than you may already be. Let me know how these tests turn out and can proceed further if necessary.
Should you have a power shift machine, I can tell you where to find that problem, but will wait till I find out what you have, no sense in making it too complicated.
If it is a coil, they can be had seperately from JCB. the only difference one has to know is the post diameter and the part #, they use two sizes for the solenoid valve.
Good luck and let me know how you make out.
