I was wondering if anyone might have some input into the early CX100s (McCormick, but made by case) I just purchased one in a fairly decent shape but can't get the 4x4 to disengage with the switch, so wondering if anyone might have input into how to get it to disengage or the wiring. The other question was about the transmission. before I bought it I noticed that the reverse gears work in all 8 ranges, hi and low, but only work when the selector is on the high torque and not the normal operating speed setting on the side of the stick. When I talked to the dealer they said it should operate in both settings bringing the reverse speeds up to 16 gears, but when I read on tractordata is said that both the McCormick and Case CX100 has 16 forward and 8 reverse gears. If I try and engage any of the reverse gears in the normal speed setting when the clutch is let out roughly a 3rd it will move slowly, but when I let the clutch pedal out all the way the tractor comes to an instant stop and stalls. The dealer thought it was an issue that the transmission was engaging both high and low gears at the same time causing the sudden halt and stall. Just curious if anyone has any input into it as I am not familiar with this model. Thanks for any help!
