Mike,
I don't buy a tractor for resale, And, i all so don't buy the "green" resale, sales pitch. And here's why: A long time ago i bought a VERY used 65hp FWA Deutz that needed some work. The previous owners kid really beat this tractor logging, and cleaning barns. I bought tires, and quite a few parts (mostly new) for this tractor, and kept a ledger of every dime i spent on it. After more than 15 years, and 7000 hours, i decided to sell it and buy a new tractor. Every one said Deutz didn't have any resale, but i put the word out i was going to sell it, and got every dime of my money back, includeing all the repairs, and the $ i spent on a used loader for it!! That's good enough for me!! All so i've been offered over double what i paid for the Deutz i still own, and the same goes for other brands i've sold in the past. Of course Deutz is green too, so...... :)
If you take care of a tractor, and keep it in good shape, a customer will come along and buy it! Notice i didn't say a "dealer" would come along.
I always figured Agco was a good company, and the Agco tractors i have are very good quality. As agco keeps gaining ground AND makeing money i'm sure they will be around if i want another tractor from them. Did i mention that my Agco's came with a 4 year/4000 hour warr.?? Something Deere didn't even offer!!
When i replaced the Deutz with my 60hp FWA Agco Allis, i saved OVER $3,600.00 compared to Deere. I bought an ALO loader with some accessories with that money. This is the best combination i've ever used in this size tractor, and it gets a lot of heavy use. My ALO loader is rated to pick up over 1000 pounds more than the Deere loader in this size too!!
BTW, my Deere dealer folded since i bought my Agco, and we now have a second Agco dealer just 20 miles away. First dealer is about 13 miles away. I'd have to go over 60 miles for parts if i had went green!!
Robert
