I don't know of the Farmall Cub has a 540 rpm pto. It seems to be to be something different but I don't remember. I have a mounted mower for my Super C which has a belt drive. The driver pulley is considerably larger than the pitman pulley so the pitman rpm would be considerably faster than 540 rpm. Pitman mowers will shake the daylights out of anything, especially when they are not cutting. When I use it to mow grass for hay I would many times run the throttle full open when I was going in third gear with my Super C. The condition of the knife and ledger plates has alot of bearing on how fast you can go. I hope this helps.
