Mike: I dont tkink there was an equivalent to the Cockshutt 540. I owned a 540 at one time. The 540,550,560,570 were the last Cockshutts built before they were bought out by White Motor in 1962. White purchased Oliver slightly before that. In 1946 Cockshutt came out with the 30 followed later by the 20, 40 and 50. That was the first tractor Cockshutt ever built. Prior to that all Cockshutts were built by Oliver and used the same molel numbers but were painted Cockshutt orange, and marketed by Cockshutt. There were a few Olivers in the late fifties painted harvest gold an sold as Cockshutts same as in earlier days. Hugh ps I see Clem is still at it, jd.
