A little news clip that explains where Buhler tractors are made. (from their web site)

Versatile, Genesis Get New Look

Tractor colors are a big issue. We joke about who bleeds what color when cut. We notice when a neighbor has a new-color machine working a field. Now, thanks to a U.S. Department of Justice decision, we'll see a new color on a couple of familiar farm tractors.

Buhler Versatile, the company that snatched up the New Holland Versatile and New Holland Genesis tractor lines, is launching the products under the Buhler name. Last week, the company announced it had made its first multi-tractor deal with the high-horsepower Versatile line, selling six machines to a dealer in Morden, Manitoba.

In the Justice Department decision on the sale of Case IH to New Holland, each brand had to sell some product lines - that's right, product lines and the factories where they're made. While Case IH sold its CX line to Landini, New Holland sold the Versatile and Genesis lines, along with the Winnipeg, Manitoba plant, to Buhler.

Now these standalone lines are coming to market. And for Versatile and Genesis buyers under the Buhler brand, the colors may be familiar. Buhler has resurrected Versatile red as the family color for the line. Here's a rundown on the two tractor lines:

Versatile: There are five machines in the line ranging in engine horsepower from 240 to 425. Power comes from Cummins engines ranging from the 8.3L engine for the 240-hp machine to the 14L for the 425-hp machine. The standard transmission choice for this machine is the 12x4 Quadra Sync II transmission. For the 2270, 2310 and 2360 models, a 12x2 powershift is also available. Hydraulic flow on the 2360 and 2425 with the Hi-Flo option is 50 gallons per minute to handle most heavy-duty hydraulic chores, such as air seeding.

Genesis: There are four models in the Genesis line ranging from 145 to 210 horsepower at the power take-off. Each machine gets power from a 6-cylinder Genesis diesel engine that's turbocharged and intercooled. The transmission is the 16x9 powershift that's programmable and has straightline shuttle. Buhler has kept the MegaFlow hydraulic option that provides 55 gpm flow for intense applications. And for now, the company has listed the SuperSteer axle as available on the new machines, as an option.
