I must say first of all that there are good and bad things about each. I'll start by filling you in on the situation a little more. My dad and I farm 630 acres. I farm full time right now and am looking for a job teaching highschool ag. My dad works full time as the maintenance manager of this horse farm. He's the one that does most of the repair work because they don't send anything off. The farm owns, if I counted right, 25 tractors. By far the best so far has been the 5220 caseih which has just over 7000hrs in 8 years. No repairs over $200 so far. We average 7 1/2 to 8 hours a day of use during the summer so most are high houred tractors. The 1490 case(David Brown) has approx 17000 hrs. Been rebuilt once. Tough but leaks a lot. M7950 has 12000 hrs very, very tough. Very few problems, no moter problems at all. 2640 will get hot if you push it hard like we do the others. That's why it mows less per hour. Rebuilt 4 years ago and has approx 12000 hours on the tractor. It is very noisy to operate, very hot to ride on a summer day(we had to put boards on the floorboards to keep our feet from blistering. Rebuilt the rabbit/turtle twice. Hard on fuel and hard to keep hydraulics from leaking. 2950 leaks, hard on fuel but very nice handling tractor. If you want more info let me know
