I'm more on the construction equipment side of things than the AG side, but emissions, and electronics/computers are causing more problems than anything else now days, based on what I'm seeing and hearing, from my customers.
To make matters worse, the owner is usually stuck having to take the machine to the dealership, and pay through the nose to have the problem repaired....IF they can figure it out.
Throw in human error, like mistakenly putting diesel fuel in the DEF tank, DEF in the hydraulic system, etc, and I imagine the reapai costs associated with all of the new, cost saving technology, is running into the hundreds of millions, if not billions, every year. Like I've told many customers, sure you might save $1000 a year on fuel, but when the system needs $10000 repair within 5 years, and you're also losing money on production while down, you're ultimately losing/spending far more than your saving.
