MY GRANDDADDY OWNED A 1954 3/4 TON CHEVROLET,AND IT HAD A LOT OF PLAY IN THE STEERING WHEEL,AND WAS ALSO HARD TO TURN,FOUND OUT MANY YEARS LATER THAT IT WAS AN INHERITED FRONT END PROBLEM WITH THAT YEAR MODEL.I BELIEVE THE ENGINE WAS 230 OR 235 CUBIC IN. STRAIGHT SIX OF COURCE. NUMBERS ON THAT YEAR MODEL WERE: 1/2 TON = 3100. 3/4 TON = 3600. 1 TON =3800. I'VE NEVER HEARD OF "350" EXCEPT AS A "1969" YEAR MODEL AND LATER V-8 ENGINE WITH G.M. I REMEMBER THE TIRE SIZE AS 7.00 X 15". HOPE THIS HELPS...
