You have touching message. I am also 20 years old and I am proud to say that there is a fellow 20 year old that feels the same way. I have grown up on my Father's farm, and he grew up on the same farm when it was my Grandfather's. I wasn't the kid in the candy store, I was the one who got to do all he wanted as soon as I was big enough (age has nothing to do with being able to push the clutch on an 806). Our newest tractor is an 84 model Case 2590, then the 79 IH 1086, followed by the 68 IH 1256, all the way down to a 1935 Farmall F-12 that is restored. See my webpages if you would like to know more. We have the newer equipment because we need to at least try to make money with our 1000 acres of farmland and 125 head of cattle. I am currently trying to get a set of older equipment - preferably from the late 50's early 60's for live power and modern type controls, no cabs - so that I may start to farm on a smaller scale. I admire your determination, there aren't many of us "younger" people that want to do things the old fashioned way. 99% of my friends and everyone I know wants a 4 wheel drive with air conditioning and a GPS monitor, etc. I HATE newer equipment, it is built cheap, made to throw away, and costs way too much. The older equipment lasts longer, is repairable, and is fairly cheap in my area.

Again, I'm happy to know that there is a fellow 20 year old that understands the value of a hard day's work and the usefulness of older equipment. God Bless.

Steven
