Dear Ghost, you may want to find a copy of "A Corporate Tragedy" and read it. It describes how IH lost its way in the '50's while the greenies were at the same time redesigning their product line. IH had been #1 for almost a century, but after 1960 they got behind and never caught up again. A shame, because I thought they often made better or at least more rugged stuff.
