Hey Terry. Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. As I said before, it's been quite a few years since I've used this particular machine. However, it performs great, just like it always did. The brush-hog I've got is a 5' Hi-Co, but long gone is any documentation which would tell me what it's "designed" horsepower rating was, etc. I have quite a bit of underbrush to clear now that I'm back on the property, but so far I've only mown the grass and small trees. Can't say I've ever tried a sapling as big as 2". I've never broken a shear pin- probably because someone (who will remain nameless) put a grade 8 bolt in there back when the cutter was new. (just changed this out last week) I'm more afraid of using the 'hog to cut trees, because of the potential for flat tires. I've already had the back tire off 7 times (for tube-related problems, not punctures)- but I'm very leery of making a bunch of short, sharp sticks that could puncture a tire next time I drive through. Usually if the cutter hits something big, gets out of balance, or catches some fence wire- then the PTO clutch lever just pops out of the "engaged" position. I just stop, re-engage it and am off on my way again. I've never had any problems with this combo, and am a big fan of the Case SC tractors. Sorry I couldn't be more help to you with specifics. Regards, Mike Schotte
