Stan, I have a BS in electro/mechanical engineering technology and a Master in Business Administration. I've been a manufacturing engineer, mold tool shop supervisor, quality manager, engineering manager, process engineer, product engineer, project engineer, facilities engineering manager, division manufacturing engineer. Manufacturing in and around Dayton, OH has been diminishing since the late '70's. Dayton was a strong General Motors town and NCR at one time employed around 20,000 when they were still making mechanical cash registers. With so much being out-sourced in China and Mexico, there's not the demand for manufacturing type of people as it was 25 years ago. I started a design and build special assembly equipment business back about 20 years ago. I filled my garage with a mill, lathe, cut-off saw, MIG welder, surface grinder and so on during that time. I just wish that I would have pursued it and got it going more viably instead of falling back to a cushy well paid engineering position. Any one need a machine designer, equipment fabricated, or a manufacturing/process consultant on a contract basis? Have degree and AutoCAD - will travel! Ken McWilliams Dayton, OH
