I hate to see old tractors get scrapped if someone can save them. So my buddy gets a call and we go up to look at a ford 860. While there I see an old fordson in rough shape. When I asked about it Owner sez it's going to be scrapped. I said I have no interest in it but would take a couple of photos and post it on the fordson group in case somebody wanted it for parts at the price of scrap. I stated in the post I have no interest in the tractor and that I was not going to go up there to pick parts off it and mail them to you.I posted shots of tractor from all sides so somebody could see if they want to my the trip. Got a ton of question about this and that on the tractor. Said I would look at it again when I go up there the following week. Couple of guys send me a message and I gave them the phone number. Can't say what was said to the owner, something about picking parts of it or can they load it on there trailer. The owner is a 65 year old over weight woman who's downsizing the farm. Next thing I know some guy on the forum is calling me "pretty slick, see how much interest there is in parts and then go up and get the tractor to part it out" So I'm done post about tractors for sale cheap or going for scrap. Went up and winched the 860 and a three bottom 101 plow. Also went to pickup a worthington I bought from another owner who had a complete Allis WC he was going to scrap. I normally would have posted it on the AC forum but after the last comment didn't bother. It bought $238 at the scrap yard. Parts were worth a lot more than that. My point is, now I know why people just call the scrapman so they don't have to deal with all the BS.Picture was not on this farm but I'm sure many of old farms went this way.
