Each summer I get hit with the same deal. Guys from SC stop and think I should repaint my rusty roof on the old hip roof barn. I am always told it wont last a year or two longer before rusting through. This has been going on for close to 25 years! Each time they stop they act like they have never seen me before. Always throwing names around of neighbors they just finished up painting for. They stay for a day or two in the area then blow out. Then in a week or two a second group who claim to not know the first pull the same line. Second group always pitches a much lower price. Each time a guy stops in with a beat up truck with spilled paint and over spray all over it. Is there a lot of barn painters From SC or do these guys really move around? Just seems strange that I have never had anyone stop wanting to paint my barns or bins from any other state. Just the state of South Carolina. In the last 3-4 years I have been getting hit with a guy or lady with SC plates trying to sell me china made tools. Pick up truck with a tondu cover filled with tools, jacks, man toys. Always trying to sell them quick to head back home. Prices start really high then fall as soon as they find out you are not interested. These folks stop in the late fall. I remember this because they are complaining about how cold it is getting. I always tell them to wait around a few weeks and it will get much worse. Are these the roof guys in the off season?? Al
