Maybe because there's so many variables involved.

Attachments, traction, speed, turning, terrain (bumps and ditches), all sorts of 'angle of attack' issues... yada yada...

I guess you could publish one that said.. on a 'standard' incline with no attachments and a 250 lb operator, a stationary tractor will be stable to XX degrees..

In general, it's one of those things that if you think you're getting close.. you are too close already.

I always thought this belongs under the category of a 'pucker factor' index... ..

The Pucker factor would (of course) also have a correction index which varies directly with the operator's age and inversely with experience.

At the half century mark, my sidehill pucker factor starts to kick in when I can see the front tire on the uphill side start getting 'light'...

In a few more years I reckon it will kick in when I climb up in the seat.
