The combine story is back to he was putting the head on the combine in the field, and somehow he was pinched between the combine and the head. Must have been some odd circumstances to get in such a position when all alone, if the hydro. Rest on him while he was cleaning off the throat, or something didn’t line up when he lifted the head and it all slipped on him when he got off to figure it out, or what happened.

The details aren’t important in the big picture of what happened; but a person is curious and maybe can learn to do better if we understand what happened......

Sad deal.

Drove out of the river valley yesterday afternoon, and a huge cloud of black smoke in the distance. Drove north of St George 5 miles, and a black remains of a combine frame and several fire trucks in a field.

Getting to be a tough year around here.

I have my own little troubles, I managed to hurt myself a couple weeks ago put a couple inch by inch hole in my tummy muscles (and mostly fat I’ll have to add) and so have the neighbor harvesting for me. Just ends up a minor wound and I’m healing up faster than scheduled will be no ill effects at all just supposed to stay sort of clean and rest some, should be good in another couple weeks. Actually I’m cleared to do whatever I feel confortable doing now, and have hauled my grain away for the past week, but not quite ready for a 10 hour grind of doing it all and responsible for all breakdowns and dirt and stress of everything.
