: : : : How cold does it have to get before I should expect problems with the fuel flow in a diesel tractor? I understand that companies sell a different kind of fuel in cold weather, but when do they do this, and what can I do with the fuel that I bought in warm weather? : : : Thanks for your help. : : Fred, you can put diesel fuel conditioner in summer fuel. It has to get well below freezing to affect diesel. : Add no. 1 fuel to get a 50-50 mix. No.2 diesel fuel will start to cloud at 7f. above that you don't have to worry much, below 7 the wax starts to seperate out of it & stick & clog to cold metel lines & your filter, "winter blend" fuels have lower BTU value than straight #2 Use something like Power Service additive if it's really going to get cold & try to get the kind with a lubricity additive too for the pump.
