: : What is the best procedure for freeing a couple of stuck bolts. I have propane and WD-40 but no torch? : On a sort of related note, I've run into some bolts and screw where : the head is so "boogered up" that the tool slips. : What I do then is use a Dremmel too with a cutting disk to cut a deep slice into it : then turn the screw out with a regular slotted screw drivers. Sometimes works where Vice Grips wont. : JD I've found an air die grinder with a cutoff wheel is very effective at removing pieces of rusted bolts, if I can get to the middle and they aren't rusted in a threaded hole. A year or two ago I removed the remains of a 5/8" bolt that was stuck in a casting without destroying the threads in the gasket. I'd broken an easy-out which made drilling impossible, so I used 1/4-3/8" grinding wheels to remove the bolt in dust particles. When I got the threads out they were brown as if some hard grade of loctite had been used. It wasn't fast but I got the bolt out and a new one holds without loctite. Gerald
