The trouble with the electrical fixes is they are the most expensive, they are non returnable, todays mechanics hardly know how old school stuff works, and most places don't have machanics old enough that actually know how to work on plain old engines. One thing I would suggest. Take your gas tank OUT and wash it out and clean the little prefilter. Happened to me with an 8hp GX240 honda engine, two of my small generators, and a 160 GD lawn tractor. Only a tiny bit of crap will mess you up. The ethinol and any water make a jell that is clear and looks like snail snott. Plugs stuff up and you can't even see it. A little splash of Startron will fix that problem most all of the time. Has enzymes that break down the ethinol molecules. When you pull the little prefilter, let it dry in the sun for maybe ten minutes. Take an old tooth brush and gently rub it. Stuff will flake right off. See 5he crud in the photo.
