Lots of old operators could make those cable machines work smooth and ever now and then might walk them a little in a grave pit or something but go to one and try loading it on a lowboy. Those were before the days of detachable low boys. Had to find a ditch or bank and go up over the back axels. Those slick pads and jerky drive chains made for a show. I saw several go off the side while loading. The mechanical governor down on the front cam of that engine should tell someone what engine , very distinct.
