The steering wheel has threads to put 2 1/4 inch bolts into. The puller can be used on them without damage to the wheel. Now before you pull the wheel If it is leaking on the bottom you need to take the lines apart on the bottom under the orbital hand pump. If it is leaking under the steering wheel you only need to pull the wheel then with the engine running turn the wheel to push the bearing and seal out the top. Then put the new parts back in.
