I too look for older running gears & recent picked up a tandem gear from a scrap yard. As to why they junked it is beyond me? Had a telescoping hitch that I bought last fall off it, kept seeing that gear sitting there thing such a waste. They burnt the self unloading rack off it still had the web stung threw what was left. My Last trip to the yard I made enough $$ to bring more home than I brought. They loaded it for me. I've pulled all the hubs & replaced the seals & repacked the bearings they were not hurt. All the matching rims are there except one & the center 4.5" pipe is bent badly. It's a wide tracking Gehl gear must be a 10 ton+ Try to decide to make two wood wagons or replace a gear that we have that is loose & cut that one up. My issue if the bushing on the tandem part are burnt somewhat I don't think they will last even though are tight now. I can pick up a 12' dump box off a F350 cheap it's the type that has the 4 steel corner post with Plank wood sides you just slide into place, hoist cylinder Leaks. Think it will make a nice wood wagon on the tandem gear.....
