Engine rebuilders did it all the time in the 50-80's. just before you seal up the head, sprinkle with a little ajax. Start er up run for about 5 minutes, turn off and drain the oil! Worked good. Nicen tight!: : : I am looking for pratical information as to what causes bore glazing and how to deal with bore glazing if it occurs in your tractors engine. : : : Can any one help me ? : : Old Timers have told me they would sprinkle Bon-Ami down the carb. , "until she squeaked". I think I would change my oil right after this. : The thought of what Bon Ami and "deglazing powder" would do the to bearings makes me shudder. The chance of even a few particles of that stuff getting into the oil would make keep me from trying it on any engine I gave a rat about.
