First, I've been on Facebook enough times that I can count them on one hand. However, there have been times when I'd want to check out a company but find that they ONLY have a Facebook page; no website at all! I made myself a VERY generic Facebook page and signed up. I was AMAZED at how intrusive that mess is!!

There have also been a couple of times when someone would post info that they found on Facebook, but I couldn't view that info without logging into there first. So the only times I ever log in is if there's something I want to see, but that info doesn't exist outside of Facebook.

I have signed out, and my PC stays that way. So yes, it IS possible to log out of Facebook and stay logged out. Same thing with Google. Now that YouTube (and many other sites) is owned by Google, if you're logged into one site, you're logged into ALL of them! I don't like that! Sometimes I go to YouTube to watch an unusual video - not something I want to view more of in the future! If I'm logged into Youtube or Google, then it becomes very difficult to get similar "Suggested Videos" like that from popping up every time I go back there.

It's a headache sometimes, but is worth the effort (to me) to log out and stay logged out of everything all the time. I can stay logged into YT and a couple of other sites, as these are respectable sites.

Anyway, my PC stays logged out of Facebook without any problems. If your wife's tablet keeps logging in, I suspect she has allowed the browser (or Facebook, itself) to keep her logged in.
