In recent weeks I've had two different dealers tell me that automotive batteries no longer come with a pro-rated warranty. Used to be if it was a 4 year battery and it gave out after only two years you got the new one for half price, etc.
Now they just have a note on the label--"free replacement for x number of months", and that's it. If it fails within that time frame, you get a new one, otherwise nothing at all.
I've gotten the same info from two different dealers, on two different brands of batteries, so they must all be doing it.
